Philosophy/Library Program Overview
The philosophy of the school library media center supports the mission of Fairfield City Schools. The library media center in each school maintains and supports a school environment which is conductive to learning and literacy by holding a multiplicity of materials for the students, teachers, and community in which they serve.
The library media center provides instruction for students in information literacy through responsible use of materials and information. The library media center supports literacy (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) through recreational reading, various modalities of writing, and all opportunities for speaking and listening.
